Today, an executive surprise visit took place at Winkie Direko Centre, a facility that houses children in conflict with the law across the province.
The centre currently accommodates 50 children, consisting of 40 boys and 10 girls which are in conflict with the law in a verge to rehabilitate them.
According to the law, center Winkie Direko seeks to ensure that children ‘s rights are not infridged, it seeks to ensure that children get back to society as better citizens, The center offers the following rehabilitation schemes for juveniles:
1) Education and Vocational Training Programs
2) Counselling and Mental Services
3) Substance Abuse Treatment
4) Behavioural Intervention Program
5) Moral Regeneration.
