On the 21st of April 2022, the Deputy Minister of Cooperative Governance Hon Nkadimeng visited Setsoto Local Municipality at its head office in Ficksburg.
The purpose of the meeting was to officially announce that Senekal, of the four towns in Setsoto, has been nominated for the Small Town Regeneration Programme.
The visit was led by Hon Deputy Minister Nkadimeng and Hon Executive Mayor Cllr Seipati Mbiwe. In attendance was Councillors from both Local and District Municipality, Management of Setsoto Municipality together with Senior Officials from the Office of the Deputy Minister.
Stakeholders who came to bear witness and heralded the announcement were the Senekal-Matwabeng Community Forum, the Business Forum and contractors.
