Today MEC Mxolisi Dukwana, received and signed a memorandum of demands presented to him by the South African Commonist Party (SACP) Caleb Motshabi District, South African Municipal Workers Union (SAMWU) SM Pule Region and Congress of South African Trade Unions (COSATU). This joint memorandum is addressed to the President of the Republic of South Africa, Honorable Cyril Ramaphosa, Minister of Police, Honorable Bheki Cele, Minister of COGTA, Honorable Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma, Premier of the Free State, Honorable Sefora Ntombela and the Administrator of the Mangaung Metro Municipality/National Intervention Team.
Among others, the said memorandum wishes to address issues on:
Poor service delivery,
Municipal workers’ salaries adjustments and tools of trade and the current status of the Mangaung Metro Municipality following recent reports of maladministration, mismanagement of municipal finances and allegations of corruption.
The parties have therefore requested that they receive a confirmation and response from the government within seven working days.
