Growing up in a family of entrepreneurs propelled 30-year old Naledi Phahlo to love

business and be her own boss, back in high school, she sold sweets and other various items and today, she manufactures her own cleaning household items such as soaps, dishwashing liquid, detergents, perfumes, sanitisers and household cleaning products to mention a few.

She is making a name for herself as one of the youngest women entrepreneurs in the cleaning products manufacturing space that is common to be dominated by the big players.

The young woman from Thaba Nchu majored in Mathematics and Chemistry while studying at the Univerisity of the Free State in her first qualification. She buys raw materials and chemicals and creates her products herself from scratch, packages them and sells them under the Deedee brand.

She has a small space in Thaba Nchu where she manufactures her products and she desires to have factory to manufacture her products in bulk.

According to Naledi, being in business has always been part of her dna.

“My parents were entrepreneurs and had a tuckshop so I grew up in a business-minded family. I realised I excelled in business as I had clients.I sold clothes, shoes and everything I can lay my hands on. In 2018 I started selling soaps and after they became a hit with my clients I made more” said Naledi.

Naledi started making her washing powder and softener which she sold to few people who loved them and that encouraged her to add more products.

The sky is the limit for Naledi as she aims to grow her business and add more products.

Regarding employing people in her business, Naledi said “I wanted to play my role in reducing unemployment in Thaba Nchu and Botshabelo. With the business growing, hope to create more permanent employment” Naledi recently graduated as a top student of the Gordon Institute of Business Science at the University of Pretoria.
